Karachi: Pakistan’s provincial government of Sindh Friday decided to alert army during the Islamic month of Muharram and in this regard the provincial home ministry would convey letters to interior ministry and fifth core of Pakistan Army.
According to sources, deteriorating law and order situation in the city and failure of police and rangers officials to overcome the situation had forced provincial government to alert army.
The provincial government has decided to deploy 10, 000 rangers officials in the city during the Islamic month, which has witnessed violence in the past.
The government has also prepared a code of conduct for the month, stating that inciting speeches would be prohibited and the proactive leaders would not be allowed to enter the province.
