Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Leader Senator Zafar Ali Shah on Thursday filed a constitutional petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the telephonic addresses of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain and appointment of Sindh governor.
In the petition, Shah prayed the court to dismiss Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and stop the MQM chief from telephonic address saying Altaf Hussain holds a dual nationality.
‘If a person having dual nationality cannot be a member of parliament then how he can control the lawmakers,” he said and added that the dual nationality holder could influence the legislation process.
He also pleaded the court to cancel the notification pertaining Ibad’s appointment as governor saying the governor also hold dual nationality.
