Nowshera: At least five people killed and 25 others injured in a blast outside a Shrine in Nowshera district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province on Sunday.
Rescue sources said that the blast occurred outside the shrine of Kaka Sahab, adding that the explosive was planted in a motorcycle which was parked about 30 feet away from the central gate of the shrine.
Police rushed to the spot cordoned off the area while investigations are being carried out, they said.
The sources said that large numbers of people were present in the shrine due to the second day of Eid al-Adha, the religious festival of Muslims.
Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik strongly condemned the blast and sought immediate report from the authorities. The minister said that the terrorists were failed to target Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa on Saturday, the first day of the Eid.
Malik said that the illegal mobile SIM cards were biggest security threat to the country, adding that the SIMs were being used in the terror activities.
