Colombo: Pakistan’s star batsman Umar Akmal has been fined by the umpires in the semi-final of the Twenty20 World Cup played at R. Premadasa stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
According to sources, the star batsman was fined for changing his gloves twice in the match against Sri Lanka without the consent of umpires.
“Umar will pay 50 percent of his match fees.”
Umar Akmal, who scored 29 runs, fought till the end against Sri Lanka but failed to led the team to the victory.
Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the semi-final by 16 runs. The winning team gave only 31 runs in the last five overs.
