Kabul: Two policemen were killed and two injured in Herat province of western Afghanistan after a roadside bomb blast.
The explosion occurred just hours before Nato was going to hand over a nearby police training academy to Afghan officials.
One of the two policemen killed in the blast was a teacher at the academy in Adraskan district, said Raouf Ahmedi, a spokesman for the Afghan police commander for the western region.
He said that the remote-controlled blast exploded as the vehicle carrying the personnel passed by.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the latest attack.
