Islamabad: The United States (US) Embassy in Pakistan Thursday rejected the content and message of anti-Islam film, Innocence of Muslims, and said that the American government had nothing to do with the film.
In a message from Islamabad, the US High Commission said that violent protests were unjustified, as the US government had nothing to do with the film.
The embassy further applauded the efforts of the Pakistan government to provide security to their offices and employees. The US Embassy said that it is satisfied with the security of all its employees.
It is to be mentioned here that, thousands of Pakistanis clashed with police firing live rounds and tear gas Thursday as anger mounted in the Muslim world over a US-made anti-Islam film and French cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
Up to 50 people were injured as police drove back thousands of protesters, many armed with wooden clubs, trying to storm Islamabad’s heavily-guarded diplomatic enclave — home to Western embassies including the US, British and French missions.
