Islamabad: The Islamabad police chief on Wednesday ordered to seal the red zone area of the capital of Pakistan, securing key government offices and foreign embassies amid fears of violent protests after Friday prayers in the city.
Inspector General (IG) police Bin Yamin ordered security officials to heighten the security measures across Islamabad.
Processions were taken out in the country against the anti-Islam film, demanding government to expel the ambassador to US and diplomatic staff.
Although there were no violent protests in the country but the government fears that the miscreants could turn the peaceful protests into violent as it was done in Libya, where four US diplomats including ambassador to Libya were killed.
According to sources, the IG ordered the officials to be vigilant at the entrance of the city and keep an eye on the suspicious people.
More personnel of Rangers and were summoned in the city in order to safeguard key locations in the capital.
