Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan in verdict in dual nationality case disqualified 11 parliamentarians including Interior Minister Rehman Malik for holding the dual nationality.
A three-member bench of the apex headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry announced the verdicts.
In the verdict, the court has directed the Election Commission to take back all the financial and other facilities from the parliamentarians within two weeks.
The apex court has also declared Rehman Malik ineligible for misrepresentation of facts in his 2008 declaration.
The other 10 disqualified parliamentarians include MPAs Mohammad Ikhlaq, Ashraf Chohan, Naida Gabol, Waseen Qadir, Nadeem Khadim, Amna Batar and MNAs Zahid Iqbal, Farah Naz, Farhat Mahmood and Jameel Malik.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S. Khwaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain had reserved the verdict on Tuesday.
