Islamabad: Pakistan government has announced a holiday to observe Yaume Ishq-e-Rasool (Day of Prophet Mohammad’s love) across the country on September 21 (Friday).
The decision was taken during the meeting of the federal cabinet under chairmanship of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The cabinet has also decided that the PM will also contact the US ambassador to Pakistan regarding the matter in coming days.
Sources said that the cabinet also held a two-minute silence over Lahore and Karachi fire tragedies and floods in the country. The PM appreciated the rescue efforts of the military in the flood affected areas and also condemned the release of anti-Islam film.

“Later during the meeting, the cabinet postponed its official agenda to focus on the issue of anti-Islam film…The meeting decided to observe Friday as a holiday to observe Yaume Ishq-e-Rasool (Day of Prophet Mohammad’s love) across the country,” the sources added.
“The meeting decided that the PM will also take the nation into confidence on the issue and will also contact with the UN envoy to Pakistan in coming day.”
