Hyderabad: A strike was observed in different parts of Sindh against the Sindh People’s Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) with at least a dozen people reported injured on Thursday.
Police arrested over 30 people for their involvement in violent activities in Thatta, Khairpur, Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas.
According to reports, business was partially closed in Hyderabad, the second largest city of the provinces. Armed clash between two groups over the closure of markets left several people wounded in the city.
Business and educational institutions remain closed in Jamshoro while public transport was also thin as people remain indoors.
The strike call was given by nationalist parties and Save Sindh Committee.
