Muzaffarabad: The flood, caused by a heavy rainfall in northern Pakistan, swept away 17 people including women and children in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
According to The News Tribe correspondent, the incident occurred in Machiara, a town 40 kilometre away from Muzaffarabad, when the flood caused by the torrential rains swept away 17 people including 4 children and four women. “Four dead bodies have been recovered while search for the other missing is underway,” the correspondent said.
Assistant Commissioner also confirmed the incident and said that the rescue work was underway. He adding there were also reports of landslide in the area.
In another incident, a child was also died in a lightning strike during torrential rains in the area.
