Islamabad: Pakistan Federal Minister Syed Khurshid Shah has said that the general elections could be held a month or two earlier from the due date.
While talking to reporters in the parliament house on Tuesday, Shah said that former Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan’s statement was his personal viewpoint not party’s.
Khurshid Shah said that the existing assembly’s term would end on March 18 and then an interim setup would follow, however with the consultations of the allies elections could be held a month or two earlier than schedule.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the biggest opposition party in the country, has also suggested eight names for the interim prime minister.
Sources said that the PML-N had suggested the names of retired judges and senior politicians, however, no bureaucrat had been suggested for the prime minister.
