Islamabad: Senior journalist Shamimur Rehman of Dawn, Pakistan’s leading English newspaper, passed away in Karachi on Tuesday.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Rehman, who was suffering from cancer.
Zardari lauded the valuable services of Rehman in his condolence message, saying that late he was a man of great talent who contributed immensely towards journalism.
The president prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and to give courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.
Ashraf in his message said the services of Rehman will be remembered for a long time.
