Jamshoro: Sindh University Vice Chancellor Dr. Nazir A. Mughal, Tuesday paid rich tributes to Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, founding father of Pakistan and Allama Iqbal, philosopher and great thinker, on the eve of independence day.
The vice-chancellor said that 14th August was a day of great happiness for the nation and this day remind us that educated community should stand united and work for the betterment of education and progress of the university.
Dr. Mugal expressed these views at a flag hoisting ceremony on the eve of Independence Day at Hyder Bux Jatoi Pavilion, university of Sindh. Faculty members, officials and a number of employees participated in the ceremony.
He said Pakistan came into being after thousands sacrifices of human lives and these sacrifices were given by our forefathers adding that it is our duty to educate our children regarding the sacrifices of our ancestors by which the creation of Pakistan became possible.
Indicating towards the issue of Hindus migration to India, Dr. Mughal said that extremism had increased in our Sindhi community which compelled Hindu community to migrate from different parts of Sindh including Larakana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur and Ghotki adding that such news appearing in newspapers hurt us to a great extent.
