London: The Netherlands crushed Great Britain 9-2 in their semi-final of the 2012 London Olympics at the Riverbank Arena.
Germany and Netherlands have never met for the Olympic gold medal until now.
Roderick Weusthof scored twice in the first 14 minutes, Britain’s Ashley Jackson halved the deficit, then the Dutch put on a show of ruthless artistry, AP reported.
Billy Bakker scored a hat trick, Weusthof completed his, five-time Olympian Teun de Nooijer tapped in for one, and Mink van der Weerden and captain Floris Evers also scored.
British Robert Moore scored a late field goal to make the score 9-2.
