London: Twitter was expected to be flooded with the tweets relating to London Olympics 2012 by its 140 million active users worldwide.
And the actual response was much more overwhelming than the expectations. Twitters saw more tweets in a single day than it witnessed during the complete span of Beijing Olympics 2008.
In Beijing Olympics, average tweets per day were 300,000 but this time Twitter received 9.66 million tweets only for the opening ceremony of London Olympics 2012 on Friday.
People all over the world shared their opinion on the opening ceremony through Twitter. And major chunk of tweets were about the NBC’s decision to delay the broadcast of the opening ceremony. People on Twitter criticized NBC badly.
