Lahore: A Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation on Tuesday visited Jamat-e-Islami’s headquarters in Mansoora, Lahore, as part of its efforts to create unity among the political forces given the political circumstances.
The MQM delegation led by Dr Farooq Sattar was received by JI Amer Syed Munwar Hassan and its secretary general Liaquat Baloch.
Talking to media after the meeting, Sattar said the MQM delegation discussed with JI issues of national importance.
He said that the MQM delegation would also hold meetings with the ANP, PML-N, PML-Q and PTI.
Speaking on the occasion, Munawar Hassan said that both the sides discussed issues pertaining to national security and Balochistan.
The JI and MQM are considered staunch political rivals in Karachi and their leaders are often found criticizing and blaming each other on national media.
