London: On Saturday, the Olympic flame will travel through five London boroughs; including Royal borough of Greenwich, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest, however, the flame will visit two London 2012 venues, The Greenwich park and North Greenwich Arena, as well.
The relay will travel approximately 36.35 miles and 143 torchbearers will get the opportunity to carry the flame.
The relay has taken start from Greenwich park at 7:22 a.m and after passing through all the five boroughs it will finish travelling at 7:30 p.m. in Waltham Forest.
At North Greenwich Arena it will be carried onto the roof by former gymnast Nadia Comaneci, who won nine gold medals in 1976 and 1980 games. At the rooftop, Nadia will hand the flame over to former basketball player John Amaechi.
Other prominent torch bearers include; Tessa Sanderson, the only British woman who a gold medal for a throwing event in 1984 at Los Angeles, will carry the flame in Newham. The flame will then pass on to Fauja Singh, the oldest torch bearer in London 2012, who was a marathon runner at the age of 89 and therefore, is a an inspiration for the runners across the globe.
The evening celebrations will be held and hosted by London borough of waltham Forest, the today’s last destination. Several companies will sponsor dance performances and bring music including the key sponsor ‘Coca Cola” and samsung.
