Islamabad: According to Gillani poll, 57% say there is no chance at all that this government can resolve the electricity crisis, Instead the problem has doubled during last 3 years, revealed a survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan.
In a nationally representative sample, citizens of Pakistan from across the four provinces were asked their opinions about the level of certainty if government is efficient enough to resolve energy crisis.
“In your opinion, what are the chances that the current government will be successful to deal with energy crisis?” Responding to this, 7% said, there was a high chance that government would successfully deal with energy crisis, 27% expressed that there was a little chance, whereas 57% believed that there was absolutely no chance that the current government would be able to deal with energy crisis. However, 9% people did not give a view.
The study was released by Gillani foundation, a nonprofit public service project and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2,671 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country. However, Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
Comparative analysis of the data showed that despair about government’s ability has more than doubled since 2009 when this question was first posed by Gallup Pakistan.
Earlier the statistical results found the graph of government’s ability was 26% which has now reached up to 57%, which shows a clear cut increase of 31% despair in the public opinion.
