Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the Constitution is supreme but the parliament makes it.
While talking to media in Lahore on Sunday, Gilani said that Pakistan was not a failed state as the country had chosen new prime minister after his disqualification.
Although, the Supreme Court of Pakistan through its short order on June 19 had sent Mr Gilani packing, declaring him disqualified from holding office of the prime minister and national assembly seat for not writing letter to Swiss authorities to reopen case against President Asif Ali Zardari, the former prime minster says he was penalised for raising voice for the formation of Siraiki province.
He said that Nato supply was not stopped on anyone’s direction rather it was halted by the government itself. “We haven’t reopened the Nato supply on the direction of anyone,” he added.
As the Difa-e-Pakistan council (DPC) is holding a long march towards Islamabad against the resumption of Nato supply, Gilani said that all the Jihadi’s were holding long march against the supply.
“Weather is good and we will provide water and other thing to the long marchers,” he added.
The former prime minster said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was the only federal party of the country. He added that dual nationality issue would be discussed in details.
