Vatican City: Fox news correspondent c has been brought in by the Vatican to help improve its communications strategy as it is trying to fight one of the most disastrous scandals in years.
Burke will become the senior communications adviser in the Vatican’s secretariat of state, AP reported, citing well-informed sources.
Both Burke and the Vatican spokesman did not comment on the development, the news agency reported.
Burke, a member of the conservative Opus Dei movement, is a former Time magazine correspondent. Pope John Paul II’s longtime spokesman, Joaquin Navarro-Valls, was also a member of Opus Dei.
The Vatican has been bedeviled by communications blunders ever since Pope Benedict XVI’s 2005 election, and is currently dealing with a scandal over leaked documents.
