Toronto: A gunman killed a 25-year-old man and injured seven others as he opened fire in Toronto’s Eaton’s Centre, on e of Canada’s famous shopping malls.
“The nature of the wounds indicate this individual was targeted,” said Toronto police chief Bill Blair on Saturday. “The others were innocent bystanders.”
Witnesses said that a young man pulled out a gun and shot another man “directly in the chest” before firing up to 15 shots, Al Jazeera reported.
The mall was then evacuated immediately after the incident. Many people watched from outside as an injured man with visible bullet wounds was wheeled out on a stretcher.
The wounded, two of them in critical condition, were being treated at local hospitals.
