Lahore: Punjab government has decided to hold local bodies election on non-party basis. The decision was taken at a meeting of provincial cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The meeting also approved Local Government Ordinance 2012 while it was also decided that 33 percent quota would be allocated for women and 5 percent for youth in local government system.
Last month, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government also announced schedule for the local government election.
