Delhi: The star West Indies player Chris Gayle has proved himself a brilliant T-20 cricketer as once again his exceptional innings has given a chance to his team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, to defeat Delhi Daredevils by 21 runs in the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) played at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, India.
The Delhi Daredevils was unable to chase a huge target of 215 runs and ended their innings on 194 runs in the 20th over for the loss of nine wickets. Ross Taylor who scored 55 runs remained the leading run scorer accompanied by Rao 36 and Andre Russell 31.
Although if the target would be between 150-200 runs it would be easily chased but a huge target of 216 runs helped Bangalore bowlers to restrict their opponents 21 runs short of their target. Zaheer khan and Parameswaran who shared three wickets were the leading wicket-takers followed by Kumar two and Muralitharan with one wicket.
Earlier the Gayle’s blistering ton (128 runs) helped Bangalore to set a target of 216 runs.
