Guantanamo Bay: Alleged mastermind of 9/11 attack Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and other four accused al Qaeda members’ case hearing is undergoing in U.S. Jail at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Appearing alongside co-accused Ramzi bin al-Shibh, Mustafa Ahmad al-Hawsawi, Ali Abd al Aziz Ali and Walid Bin Attash, Khalid Sheikh Mohammad refused to talk to the judge.

Earlier, when hearing started Ammar al Baluchi and Ramzi Bin Al Shiba, two of the five accused, asked court they wanted to offer prayer for which they were allowed.
Walid Bin Attash, not making eye contact with judge or lawyer, even refused to answer judge and focused on book he was appearing to read.
During the proceeding Cheryl Bormann, Attash’s lawyer, said her client had been mistreated.

Judge stressed that he needed to tell accused about their counsel rights.
Guards removed Walid Bin Attash’s restraints after his lawyer assured court that his client will not misbehave in court. He was restrained because he didn’t want to move from the holding cell to courtroom.
Earlier, Attash’s lawyer said he wasn’t allowed to talk to his client about why he was in restraints.
Chief prosecutor Brig. Gen Martins suggests that translators can be brought in for the accused.
KSM’s form of protest appeared to be to not listening to judge and lawyers translation through headphones provided by court.
KSM’s lawyer said his client would not reply back to the judge because he was concerned about fairness of Guantanamo court.
Earlier, Hawsawi lawyer said his client didn’t get a copy of the charges.
During the hearing KSM has been sitting in the front row in the courtroom, with the four other co-accused behind him.
One of the accused persons Ammar Al Baluchi’s lawyer called military commissions unjust, saying lawyer-client mail being read which was a violation of rights.
