Islamabad: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Friday staged walk out from Senate protested in the National Assembly against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The Senate session began under the chairmanship of Nayar Bokhari. The PML-N walked out after Nawaz-League Senator Mushahidullah Khan said that no debate could take place in the presence of a convicted prime minister and his cabinet.
The N-League lawmakers entered the National Assembly with black armbands on their hands and lodged protest, chanting slogans “Go Gilani Go and No Gilani No”.
During the proceedings Law Minister Farooq H, Naik said that a bill on Hazara province would also be tabled after evolving consensus on the issue.
He said that the Nawaz-league’s protest was in volition of parliamentary norms and the party would be responsible if any harm to the democracy was inflicted.
The session adopted a bill on National Commission for Human Rights. The NA session was adjourned till indefinite period.
