Quetta: A Three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhmmad Chaudhry continued the proceedings on a petition on the law and order situation in Balochistan and the missing persons issue.
The apex court bench comprising the chief justice, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Pervez continued to record the statements of the relatives of 62 missing persons at Supreme Court’s Quetta Registry.
The chief justice remarked that the every person who appeared before the bench had held FC responsible for missing person.
DIG FC Brigadier Shehzad told the bench that there was no missing person in FC’s custody. He added that holding FC responsible for the missing person was lamentable.
“If the missing person are not in FC’s custody than where the police is recovering these persons from,” the CJ replied.
“People are being killed, where is the administration?” CJ said. “It appeared that secret agencies are not cooperating.”
Justice Khilji remarked there should be a respect for FC’s uniform but people were afraid of them (FC).
On Wednesday the apex court summoned Balochistan’s top government officials including Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani and ISI’s sector commander to explain progress, or lack thereof, on the issue of ‘missing persons’.
