Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday removed former law minister Babar Awan from all the posts he held in the party.
According to The News Tribe correspondent, Awan is no longer the secretary finance of the PPP, nor the senior vice-president. After removing Awan the Party has given the charge of finance secretary to Rukhsana Bagash.
Meanwhile, Babar Awan’s brother Farooq Awan has also resigned from the party.
Earlier in April, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had expressed reservations about Babar Awan as he didn’t received phones from the prime minister house and the presidency after he was asked to be a witness in contempt case against the premier.
Punjab Governor Latif Khosa had also termed Awan and Masood Chishti as Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq for the PPP.
