Multan: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday took PPP lawmakers into confidence over the discarding of Babar Awan.
Speaking to the lawmakers in Multan, the president said that Awan disappointed the party despite he was taken to higher positions.
He said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had expressed reservations about Babar Awan and the letter didn’t received phones from the prime minister house and the presidency after he was asked to be a witness in contempt case against the premier.
Sources said that Awan had been considering the issue as a confrontation between him and Aitzaz Ahsan while he was unaware of president’s instructions in this regard.
