Islamabad: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday said that the Prime Minister Gilani is now a convict who should resign from his position on moral ground.
Talking to media outside National Assembly in Islamabad, Nisar said that there was a consensus among the opposition parties in regard to its demand that the PM should resign from his position.
“There was no example in the history of the way the government had ridiculed the Supreme Court’s rulings over the course of past four years,” Nisar said.
The opposition Leader said that the PM had lost the eligibility to even walk into the National Assembly as an MNA.
“What makes them claim they face the courts?’ he questioned, adding, when Ms Benazir Bhutto was convicted, she absconded to another country for 8 years.
He said leaders in other parts of the world step down even on an allegation.
The Opposition leader said in the wake of the SC verdict, his party would show reaction both inside and outside the Parliament.
Earlier Speaking in National Assembly Nisar said that PML-N would not allow the convicted PM to enter the premises of National Assembly.
