Karachi: Department of Education Sindh province has approved Rs. 625 million program to teach Chinese language at schools across the province.
The approval was given at a meeting which was chaired by Education minister Pir Mazhar Ul Haq.
In the first step 200 teachers would be trained regarding Chinese language with both at the province and in China.
Afterwards, the Chinese language would be introduced in several schools from class 6 to 8 in the second step.
Meanwhile education minister informed media after the meeting that the assessment test would be taken from 15,000 students by the ZABIST, a private sector university, through which 50 boys and 50 girls students would be selected from all districts of province and Rs. 1500 monthly stipend would be given to the selected students.
“Biometric system and Interactive Boards would be introduced in the colleges and schools to provide training in various subjects including English, math, physics and others,” he added.
The minister also gave direction to education secretary to develop Information Technology Bureau and Education Act in the department.
