Lahore: The power shortfall in the country has surged to around 6500 MW with load-shedding duration between 14 to 20 hours across Punjab.
According to ministry of water and power sources, most power plants were producing less electricity as compared to their capacity due to shortage of oil, gas and capital. Ministry of finance was not cooperating, sources added.
Official said instead of 40 thousand tonnes,13 thousand tones oil was being supplied to Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco).
