Swat: Malala Yousufzai, a brave girl from Swat who wrote diaries for BBC during Taliban’s rule in the scenic valley and was nominated for international peace award and eventually won National Peace Award, called upon the government to announce a day of mourning over the Siachen tragedy and compensation of Rs10 million for family of each soldier trapped beneath an avalanche in Gyari sector in the world’s highest battle field.
Speaking at the Swat Press Club on Sunday, she said that entire nation was sad over the Siachen tragedy, adding that both Pakistan and India should withdraw troops from the “useless” war front.
Yousufzai also lit candles in the memory of the Pakistan Army soldiers.
