Islamabad: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that nuclear waste was dumped in an open place in Dera Ghazi Khan and was affecting lives of people.
The remarks came during the hearing of a plea moved by the affectees through their lawyer Sardar Asmatullah Advocate.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the case.
Asmatullah advocate said that nuclear waste was being brought from Kahuta, Chaghi and Qadirpur and dumped in DG Khan. The court adjourned the hearing to the last week of May after Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq sought time to submit reply.
