Karachi: Unidentified armed men opened fire outside the venue of poetry symposium organised by the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) at Two-Swords commonly known as ‘Do-Talwar’ area of Karachi, sources said on Sunday.
The sources said that the participants of the gathering saved their lives by lying down on the gound.
“No causality was reported in the firing incident but the organisers stopped the show due to security reasons as poets from others countries were also present in the show,” they added.
MQM leader Wasay Jalil told media that the firing incident happened due to the a gun-fight between dacoits and police and the situation was now under control.
