Saint Lucia: West Indies defeated Australia by 42 runs at Beausejour Cricket Ground, Gros Islet, St Lucia, West Indies, in the fourth One-Day International of the five match series between the two teams thus leading the series with 2-1.
The Australian team failed to chase a target of 294 runs set by West Indies and completed their innings with 42 runs short of the score.
Except David Hussey and Breet Lee who scored 57 and 59 runs respectively, the other Australian batsmen failed to cross 30’s.
The West Indies bowlers through their combine effort helped their team to win against a world-class team. Kemar Roach, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Sammy and Andre Russell took two wickets each while Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard shared one wicket each.
Earlier West Indies team due to the blustering innings of Kieron Pollard, who scored 104 runs from 70 balls, scored 294 runs.
