Dhaka: Pakistan after a thrilling match beat Bangladesh by 21 runs in the first One Day International of Asia Cup at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, here on Sunday.
The blustering innings of 64 runs by Shakaib Al Hasan along with 60 runs by Nasir Hossain gave some hope to Bangladeshi team in order to win the first match but failed in their attempt. Tamim Iqbal and Nazimuddin were the other two batsmen who crossed 30’s in the Bangladeshi batting line, scoring 64 and 30 runs respectively.
Umar Gul remained the leading bowler in the match taking three wickets while Mohammad Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal and Shahid Afridi took two wickets each.
Earlier Pakistani team scored 262 runs in their innings.
