Lahore: Train drivers of Pakistan Railways on Thursday announced end their hours long strike to get their demands met.
Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, taking notice of the disruption in rail service, said that he had asked the drivers to end their strikes first than the notification would be issued to meet their demands.
Train drivers Association said that they had ended their strike for the sake of masses, however the hunger strike would remain continue.
Earlier, the demonstrators held back the engine of Allama Iqbal Express at Loco-shed Lahore.
Drivers of Shalimar Express and Hazara Express plying from Karachi also balked at running the trains. Meantime, four trains including Jaffer Express, Quetta Express, Bahaud Din Zakaria Express and Sukkur were held back at Sukkur Station.
Awam Express running from Peshawar has also been halted.
