Brisbane: Australia after a thrilling match beat Sri Lanka by 15 runs in the first final of the CB series at Brisbane Cricket Ground, here on Sunday.
The blustering innings of 73 runs by Nuwan Kulasekra along with 60 runs by Upul Tharanga gave some hope to Sri Lankan team in order to win the first final but failed in their attempt. Sangakara and Dhammika Prasad were the other two batsmen who crossed 30’s in the Sri Lankan batting line, scoring 42 and 31 runs respectively.
David Hussey remained the leading bowler in the match taking four wickets while Breet Lee and Shane Watson took three wickets each.
Earlier Australia set a huge target of 322 runs for Lankans to win first final.
