Peshawar: A suicide bomber blew himself up near a vehicle of Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao (PPP-S) leaders in Shabqadar area of Peshawar, injuring at least four people, sources said on Saturday.
Police said PPP-S chief Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao had delivered the speech in a public gathering minutes before the blast took place. They said the suicide bomber targeted a vehicle carrying Aftab Sherpao, his son Skindar Sherpao and a member of provincial assembly Muhammad Ali.
Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. The injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital. However, the injured were in stable condition.
A PPP-S member said that Mr Sherpao remained safe in the incident.
