Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan would take any decision on Pak-Iran gas pipeline keeping in view its own interests and would not succumb to any pressure in this regard.
Speaking at a ceremony after inauguration of the Air University in Multan on Saturday, Gilani said Pakistan would establish ties with other countries including Iran keeping in view its own interests. He said that the country would not succumb to foreign pressure as it had an elected government.
Replying a query regarding current status of relations with the Unites States, the primer said ties with the US faced ups and downs.
Gilani said that phase of Senate polls had completed smoothly and now the government would be eying budget in May.
He said that no chair set up or care set up would be in place nor the prime minister would be jailed.
Gilani said that the government was not mulling over to impose restrictions on the media as it believe in strong institutions. He said that the government wanted media to be more independent.
He said that media, judiciary and other institution should be strong and there would be no problem if all the state institutions worked within constitutional orbit.
Answering a question regarding Seraiki province, Gilani said that it was the desire of people and conspiracy would not succeed. He said the government would table an amendment regarding Seraikai province.
