Islamabad: A new survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan has suggested that 41% of Pakistanis has said that they give high (15%) or moderate (26%) importance to the size of the extended family in the home of a prospective son in law.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “When it comes to choosing a son in law for marriage, different people have different preferences. Kindly tell how much importance do you give to the size of the household of the in-laws’ as a factor of eligibility for a son in law?”
Responding to this 15% claim that they give high importance to the size of household, 26% claim to give moderate importance, 36% claim to give low importance whereas 21% claim to give no importance at all. However 2% did not give a view.
