Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has refused to grant more time to Election Commission of Pakistan to complete preparation of voters’ list.
A four-judge bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the petitions filed by Imran Khan, PPP late chairperson Benazir Bhutto and others.
The CJ said law would take its course, if the list were not completed till February 23. He remarked that the court has been asking for preparation of voters’ list for two years.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Hamid Khan told the court that according to EC the list could not be completed before May this year.
