Islamabad: Cameron Munter, United States Ambassador to Pakistan, has said that the US was vacating the Shamsi Airbase.
He said that the airbase would be vacated till the deadline given by Pakistan.
Munter said that investigations were being carried out into Nato attack on Pakistani checkposts and Islamabad would also be apprised of the outcome of the probe.
He said that action would be taken against those responsible for the attack that led to killing of 24 Pakistani soldiers.
The US envoy termed Mansoor Ijaz’s recent statement as pile of lies, in which he levelled serious allegations against President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan’s former ambassador to Washington Hussain Haqqani.
