New Delhi: Violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control, Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts in Karnah area of Kupwara district, Indian media claimed in a report on Sunday.
“The Pakistani troops opened fire at 5.00 PM yesterday towards Indian posts located close to civilian areas in Karnah area, 140 kms from Srinagar,” report quoted Indian official sources as saying.
They said the Indian Army retaliated the firing with small weapons and the exchange lasted several minutes.
This is the first ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the LoC in Kashmir Valley in the past three months.
Violation of ceasefire during August and September resulted in the death ofthree Pakistani soldiers and an Indian Junior Commissioned Officer.
