ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has once again appointed Abdul Basit as its Foreign Office spokesman. He was removed from the position earlier in the year after former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi adopted a tough instance about the diplomatic immunity for Raymond Davis, a CIA contractor who killed two Pakistanis in Lahore.
Abdul Basit will continue to work as additional secretary for Europe as well. Tehmina Janjua, who had been the spokesperson for the Foreign Office, has now been appointed the ambassador to Italy. She will take charge of her new position on December 7.
