Karachi: The railways police, Karachi Division, on Thursday arrested five accused and recovered stolen equipment from their possession.
Talking to The News Tribe, a UK-based news website, Pakistan Railways spokesman Ershad Baig said that a team headed by SHO Karachi City police station Gohar Sultan raided Railway Yard in Keamari and arrested five accused identified as Shakir, Riaz, Ahmed Khan, Ajab Khan and Ghulam Akbar. He said that huge quantity of stolen railway material, including electric wire and release valves were recovered from the possession of the accused.
The spokesman said that the arrested were being interrogated while raids were being conducted to arrest absconder Fazal Hussain.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways Police Inspector General Syed Ibn-e-Hussain said that police were making all-out efforts to curb corruption and arrest criminals. He appreciated the performance of railways police, Karachi Division.
