Karachi: The “Magnificent 7- UAE EXPO 2011”, an event to commemorate the UAE’s 40th National Day, was inaugurated recently by Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani along with notable personalities from the UAE, namely, the Foreign Trade Minister of UAE, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi and the UAE Consul General, Sohail Bin Mathar Al Ketbi.
Other notable personalities that graced the event with their presence included Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Federal Minister for Commerce, Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan, Governor of Sindh and Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh.
Amer Khan, Country Manager Etihad Airways, said, “This event is a matter of pride for all those concerned with the UAE. There could be no better way to celebrate the National Day of the UAE than to have an event of such magnitude in Pakistan. As part of the Etihad Airways team, I sincerely hope that this exhibition proves to be a successful and pleasant experience for all guests. We welcome all those who will join us for this magnificent event in hopes that this will only strengthen the relationship between the UAE and Pakistan. ”
The event, at the Karachi Expo Centre, is expected to attract both industry stakeholders and the general public and it will feature an extensive display of fine quality UAE goods and services. Furthermore, this event will also act as an investment conference involving prominent speakers from the UAE and Pakistan too.
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has been appointed as the official airline for the “Magnificent 7- UAE EXPO 2011” in Karachi, from November 30 to December 2, 2011.
