Lahore: Thousands of students took out rally on Wednesday against Nato for its attack on Pakistani outposts in Mohamand Agency that led to killing of over two dozen military men.
Students of Punjab University marched in the campus, holding national flags and chanting slogans against the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation( Nato) and the United States. The protesters were also holding placards and banners inscribed with anti-US and Nato slogans such as “down with Nato” Shame on US”.
Thousands of male and female students took out rally which started from the Mass Communication Department. University staff and lecturers also participated in the rally, expressing solidarity with the armed forces.
The protesters demanded of the government to pull out from the so-called war against terror that led to killing of more than 35,000 Pakistanis.
Addressing the rally Vice Chancellor Punjab University Kamran Mujahid said the Nato raid was a big blow to country’s sovereignty and integrity. He said Nato apology would not be enough rather Pakistan should take practical steps to cope with the situation.
