Karachi: Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) Chairman Afaq Ahmed has said he will support former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza’s efforts to bring peace in Karachi.
He was talking to media after appearing before a Sindh High Court bench for pleading his multiple applications.
He said he did not trust the government and if he was arrested again after his release under the MPO it would be considered contempt of court.
He also expressed solidarity with the Pakistan Army over the Nato attack on its outposts.
Earlier, the SHC directed the Director General Sindh Rangers and Inspector General Police to provide security to Afaq Ahmed after his release as providing security to him was the government responsibility under article 9 of the Constitution.
An-Anti-terrorism court has ordered the government to release Ahmed. The MQM chief is expected to be released in the evening.
